• IIFT conducted “New Millennium Meet” on 14 th January 2000 at Jacaranda, India Habitat Centre. In the meeting Head Office and as well as Centres have discussed their past achievement & future plans. IIFT Boutique PR’s Cleopatra has displayed its New Summer 2000 collection designed by its Chief Designer Ms. Pawan Sodhi.
• IIFT conducted special workshop on 20-01-2000, the topic of discussion was “ISO 9002 and Quality Control”. Mr Vinay Agarwal put his views on the said Topic. The students of AM 1yr 99, May 98 and Sep 98., attended the workshop. They were very much thankful to IIFT as a whole for providing them such opportunity.
• On 21 st of January Ms. Pooja Kohli was invited to IIFT Head Office to conduct a Workshop on the topic “The Role Of Merchandiser In The industry”. She Discussed on “The Planning, Development and Presentation of Product Line(s) for identified target Market(s) with regard to prices, assortments, styling and timing.” The FD Aug 98 A+B, FD/CM 2yr. May+Sep 98 batch students attended the seminar.
• On January 22 nd Ms. Bhavana Dhar who is Sr. Merchandiser of Ambani Group of Companies discussed in detail about “the export procedure and documents like CAD/LC etc. The workshop was on “Export Techniques and Procedures”. The students who attended the workshop were of GPT 1+2yr Aug 99, GBA 2yr Aug 98, and AM 1+2 Aug 99.
• On the same day that is on 22 nd Jan another special Workshop on “Graphic Display Design” was conducted in IIFT premises. The Speaker Mr. T. Bose is a graphics designer in ITPO. The students of TD 1+3 Aug 99, ID 1+ 2 Aug 99 and CA 1+ 3 Aug 99 were highly benefited by this workshop.
• On 24 th Jan 2000, Ms. Neetu Soni was invited to IIFT Premises. She conducted a workshop on Jewellery Designing. She shared her innovative ideas on jewellery making i.e Artificial and Original Diamond. The lecturer was devoted to jewellery and its importance in present era. Students knew about various ways of jewellery making and important tools used in jewellery designing.
• On January 27 th two external workshops were conducted. Among those one was on “Vaastu”. Mr. Manoj Jual was invited for this. He explained about this Ancient science of Construction (VAASTU). He also explained how to over come the problems which occurs due to wrong constructions, directions using Vaastu. The students of ID and FD Batches attended the Workshop.
• Mr. M.A. Quadri, Sr. Manager (Project), National SC. ST. Finance & Development Corporation., was the speaker of the workshop on “Project Analysis”. He elaborated the topic by going minutely through the headings Project Formulation, Preliminary Project Analysis etc. The students of TD and FD batches attended the workshop.
• On 31 st Jan 2000, Mr. Navneet Uppal visited IIFT to explain the role of buying house and export house keeping the role of merchandiser in mind. He also paid emphasis on the basic work of merchandiser. Lastly he explained about different fabrics and their construction and relevance in Export Business.

• On 1 st Feb 2000, a workshop on “Hand Painting” was conducted in IIFT premises. The speaker was an Ex student of the institute and now has earned a repute for herself through innovating the basic themes of painting. She shared her knowledge with the students regarding the art of doing Malaysian Batik and innovations, which she has developed. The students of TD class attended the workshop.
• Ms. Deepa Sachdeva paid a visit to IIFT on 4 th February 2000. She conducted a workshop on “Product Servicing”. Ms Deepa discussed on product genesis. She also explained about the role of Model in attracting customers. The speaker categorized customer into different category. Ms. Deepa also spoke on the importance of advertising in sales promotion of apparel.
• IIFT participated in 24 th India International Garment Fair organized by AEPC held in Pragati Maidan between 4-6 February 2000. Where in IIFT Boutique “PR’s Cleopatra Haute Couture” has presented autumn / winter collection designed by its Chief Designer Ms. Pawan Sodhi.
• IIFT also participated “Indapparel 2000” – domestic garment fair organized by AEMA held in Hotel Samrat between 6-8 February 2000. Wherein IIFT Boutique “PR’s Cleopatra Haute Couture” has presented its collection designed by its chief designer Ms. Pawan Sodhi.
• IIFT participated the fashion show “Fashion Facet - !st, IInd & IIIrd collection” at Pragati Maidan. In this fashion show IIFT Boutique “PR’s Cleopatra Haute Couture” has show its Autumn / Winter 2000-2001 collection designed by its chief designer Ms. Pawan Sodhi.
• IIFT organized an educational trip to “Tex India Exhibition” at Pragati Maidan on 4 th of February 2000. All students of Textile Designing, Fashion Designing were part of the trip.
• A workshop was conducted on “How to select and develop SME units. This workshop was conducted on 9 th Feb 2000. Ms. Minati Dey was invited to deliver lecture in the mentioned Topic. This workshop was organized in order to give the students an insight on how to go about selecting either fabricating units or for a buying house to select the export house.
• IIFT organized one study tour to “Suraj Kund Craft Mela” on 14 th February 2000. Students of fashion, textile, interior & management divisions were part of the tour.
• “Texpressions” – an exhibition by textile designing department organized by IIFT Head Office in IIFT premises. All TD students were participated the Exhibition.
• “Piccaray – A tribute to Piccaso & Ray” – an exhibition by Commercial Arts Department, organized on 18 th & 19 th February 2000. Faculty In-charge Mr. Acharya.
• IIFT organized one seminar on “Marketing & Communication Techniques For 21 st Century” on 21 st February at India International Centre. Famous personalities like Mr. Shamshir Luthra (Leading Anchor) Neerja Handa (Expert from Buying house) Mr. Vivek (Expert from E-commerce) Mr. Nandi Chawla (Leading Garment Expert) Mr. Y. Messi (Domestic Marketing Expert) were given lectures in their respective field.
• “Sensuality” – an exhibition by Fashion Design Department organized by IIFT Head office in IIFT premises on 25 th, 26 th & 27 th February 2000. All fashion design students were participated in the exhibition.

• “Mettallic Millennium” – an exhibition by Interior Designing Department organized by IIFT Head Office in IIFT premises on 6 th & 7 th of March 2000. Faculty In-charges were Ms. Neeraj Kapoor & Mr. Gaurav Sanghvi.
• IIFT Head Office organised embroidery competition on 8 th March at IIFT premises for Fashion Designing, Textile Designing, Clothing Management students.
• IIFT has organized an educational trip to Chandigarh, Nahan & Shimla on 10 th March to 15 th March 2000. Students from Fashion, Textile, Interior, Garment Business Administration, Apparel Merchandising were part of the tour. This includes factory visit to BSM Knit Fab India Ltd in Lalru, Panjab
• IIFT North Delhi Centre sponsored one fashion show “Vividha 2000” at Laxmibai College on 12 th March 2000. IIFT Model Ms. Preeti Garg got the best model award in this show. Also the sequence “Nightingale” got best sequence award.
• IIFT North Delhi Centre organized one sketching competition at Laxmi Bai College and winner were offered free courses .
• IIFT inaugurated its new centre in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh on 12 th March 2000. Famous model Ms. Maher Bhasin inaugurated the centre. IIFT founder & executive director Mr. R.D. Lal was the chief guest.
• IIFT organized Holy Get together on 16 th March 2000 in Hotel Le-Meridian. All Centre in-charges & staff were present on the occasion.
• IIFT Head Office organized sketching competition on 24 th March for Fashion Designing students at IIFT premises.
• IIFT organized an educational trip to Dehradun on occasion of IIFT Dehradun Centre’s First Anniversary on 30 th March 2000.

• IIFT participated in Career Carnival 2000 held on 14 th April 2000 to 16 th April 2000. This Carnival organised by Career Creators in association with International Institute of Fashion Technology where the creations of IIFT students were presented.
• IIFT Dehradoon centre organised fashion show at Punjab Regiment on the occasion of Golden Jublee Celebrations at Dehdradoon. In this fashion show creations of upcoming IIFT designers were shown and appreciated.

• The French Ambassador to India hosted a dinner in honour of designers of IIFT at French Embassy on 13 th May 2000.
• Grand IIFT Day on 14 th of May 2000. It was the first Grand Event of this millennium, IIFT organized Grand Fashion Show- INTERNATIONAL FASHION CONCERT” at Indira Gandhi Stadium wherein IIFT designers and Its boutique PR's Cleopatra Haute Couture headed by Ms. Pawan Sodhi were displayed. • IIFT organized an award ceremony on 14 th May 2000 in the premises of Indira Gandhi Stadium where IIFT outstanding students were awarded, prizes for their hard work and their talent was appreciated.
• IIFT organised award distribution ceremony on the glamorous evening of 14 th May 2000 in the premises of Indira Gandhi Stadium. • IIFT organized a study tour to Kathmandu Nepal for its students from Head office and franchise centers. From 26 th of Sept. to 3 rd of October 2000.
• IIFT organized a market survey of Kathmandu Nepal & visited old town of Bhakatpur .
• ”Vastrang” fashion show a truly international fashion event organized by IIFT at Brikuti Mandap in Kathmandu, Nepal during the dashain festival celebration. On 30 th Sept.2000 where the up coming designer of IIFT head office and its franchise centre have shown their designs in this International event and got appreciation by Nepal People. 2 fashion shows were held on 30 th Sept. & 1 st Oct.2000.
• IIFT Boutique PR’s Cleopatra Haute couture’s designers designed by its chief designer Ms. Pawan Sodhi were shown in this international event. All the designer’s collections of PR’s Cleopatra were highly appreciated by the common men as well as the delegates present in this show. Beside there students collection was also presented during the event.
• IIFT organized the fashion show “PRAMPARA” during the dashain festival celebration at Brikurti Mandap in Katmandu Nepal on 1 st of October 2000. Up coming designers IIFT have again show there creativity in this international event

where Nepal’s model present all the outfits of IIFT designers.

• IIFT Head Office participated in another event Miss Punjab contest held. During the festival of India on 23 rd of October in Gymkhana Club at Jallandhar where all the contestant were present IIFT designers garment. Which was designed by Pawan Sodhi.
• DIWALI GET Together was organized by IIFT chief & Founder executive Director Mr. R.D. Lal on 22 nd of October at Le-meridian Hotel. Where our Ex. Director addressed all the centre Heads and all faculty and staff member of IIFT.

• IIFT organized a market survey for the Apparel Merchandising and fashion-designing students on the Topic of “Accessories Procurement for export market” on 4 th of Nov.2000 by faculty Faiza Qazmi.
• IIFT organized an out door visit for Textile designing students to craft Museum on the topic “Indian folk Art” by faculty Ms. Kulbir on 9 th of Nov. 2000.

• IIFT organized a marvelous one-day educational tour to Suraj Kund, Empire Resort and Damdama Lake. It was an inter centre picnic held on 25 th of Nov. 2000 IIFT in this picnic there was an interaction of IIFT centre heads with chief Executive Director of IIFT Mr. R.D. Lal In the meeting the various ways and means to conduct more such educational and information Tour were charted out. Student enjoyed a lot in the picnic they had a lot of fun by singing and dancing.
• IIFT Centre Head Meet the centre head meet was held on 25 th Nov.2000 at empire resort Gurgaon,Noida, East Delhi, West Delhi, Faridabad, Centre heads were present.

• IIFT conducted its final examination for the January batch students from 4 th Dec. 2000 - 20 th of Dec. 2000 at IIFT Head Office.
• IIFT Head office organized a centre heads meeting at India International centre on 13 th of Dec.2000 by our Executive Director Mr. R.D. Lal. During this meeting review & planning strategies for IIFT centers and monitor the programm of centers. The meet was followed by lunch and Tea. All centre Heads & Centre Directors and IIFT head office senior staff members were present.
• IIFT conducted its mid-term Examination for the May/Aug/Sept Batches students from 18 th of Dec to 23 rd of Dec. 2000.
• IIFT North Delhi Centre sponsored the fashion show at Ashok Vihar, which was organized by Tin-Tin cable Advertising media, and Ashok Vihar Maitri Sung on 23 rd of Dec. 2000.
• IIFT Head Office organized centers heads meet outside of Delhi which held at Dehradoon on 26 th of December 2000 with Executive Director Mr. R.D Lal for planning future strategies for IIFT centres . Also reports and information regarding students, progress was taken.
